Manual
This is a generative synthesizer. New notes will be generated every 2.5 seconds Every cluster of newly generated notes is a "generation." The key will change +/- 3 semitones every 4 generations, alternating. Learn More
Random
Each new generation will be unaffected by the previous generation. Instead, each individual pad will have a 12.5% chance of coming to life during the new generation's nascency.
Classic
While this is, to me, the draw of this synth, it is admittedly less straightforward than Random mode.
The rules of Conway's Game of Life will be used to produce the next generation:
- Any live pad with two or three live neighbours will survive.
- Any dead pad with three live neighbours will become a live pad.
- All other live pads will die in the next generation. Similarly, all other dead pads will remain dead.
Note that each pad's "neighbour" is defined by its numeric value. For example, pads 6 and 7 are neighbours, despite being on opposite sides of the grid.
